What your landlord must tell you about bed bugs
Yes. Under California law, landlords must give tenants written information about bed bugs, and they cannot rent out a unit they know currently has a bed bug infestation.
The law requires landlords to provide bed bug information — what the bugs look like, how to spot them, and how to report them — to new tenants and, in general, to existing tenants. Landlords also must notify tenants of the results of any bed bug inspection of their unit or the building. And a landlord who knows a unit is infested is not allowed to show or rent it until the problem is handled.
